I'm seeking recommendations for a good Drupal-compatible host with the capacity for shared SSL and a trusted certificate--i.e. 99%+ browser compatibility.

Any of the following would do:
Instant SSL
Verisign
Thawte
Entrust
Baltimore

I'd like to implement the Authorize.net component of ecommerce.module, but need shared SSL with a trusted certificate to make it work the way I'd like. I know that I can use a private certificate, but I'd rather not pay for it.

We do not currently have Shared SSL .. but if this is something that you might find handy (as your post indicates), we are open to have a look at the possibilities (at the end of the day it is added value for us also).

Give me a shout by e-mail so that we can see if we can help you out (we are Instant SSL resellers .. so any solution we might come up with would be within your 99% requirements)
