another simple idea with your module could be a simple link to creation link to content types

NOW, as a privileged User or Editor [depending on the ROLE title] you can;
>create news content
(linked to /node/add/news)

>create page content
(linked to /node/add/page

>create [whatever the available content type] content
(linked to /node/add/[content type name])

so the module block is double useful
1 it tells the user their privilages
2 hotlink to adding content links, and editor hotlink block

--also i am not sure the word 'content' is really necessary at the end

and this:

1. whats role? if user have more roles? which role i should display? (problem 1) but good idea!

2. hotlinks to adding content links, and editor hotlink block is too different in some choices then this idea is hard to be good for all, i dont implement this (i thinks so :) maybe in future? as new issue)

3. Maybe right to idea as extension or part of the adminblock.module but this is future - really future.

My idea was (where i create this module) : Make block to inform users about need to be registered and why they should be.
HotLinks is too much for my idea i thinks so. Sorry but thanks for your issue.
