Node Clone - Image issues - Patch needed

Hi all

I've come across the problem described in the following issue :

I would like a solution that can be provided to the project owner to be incorporated into the module.

My current issue is that I am cloning nodes, which have images attached, in some circumstances (like the original node deleting and changing photos), the cloned nodes images are obviously now gone as well.

Please provide quotes or questions.
