Hi,
My site is output RSS source at Chinese GB2312 encoding and can read in firefox and IE without error.
Now when I try to integrate my source with Drupal 4.6.1 using the included aggregator module. it simply display error when I update manually:
Failed to parse RSS feed ABC.com: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 4.
Line 4 is the 1st line contains GB2312 character.
I did enabled iconv and mbstring of my php 4.3.11 installation with httpd 2.0.53 after read common.inc which has function to handle non-utf8 RSS source. From my phpinfo(); call, I have:
iconv
iconv support enabled
iconv implementation glibc
iconv library version 2.3.2
Directive Local Value Master Value
iconv.input_encoding ISO-8859-1 ISO-8859-1
iconv.internal_encoding ISO-8859-1 ISO-8859-1
iconv.output_encoding UTF-8 UTF-8
mbstring
Multibyte Support enabled
Japanese support enabled
Simplified chinese support enabled
Traditional chinese support enabled
Korean support enabled
Russian support enabled
Multibyte (japanese) regex support enabled
mbstring extension makes use of "streamable kanji code filter and converter", which is distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 2.1.
Directive Local Value Master Value
mbstring.detect_order auto auto
mbstring.encoding_translation Off Off
mbstring.func_overload 0 0
mbstring.http_input pass pass
mbstring.http_output UTF-8 UTF-8
mbstring.internal_encoding UTF-8 UTF-8
mbstring.language English English
mbstring.substitute_character no value no value
SO, Is this a misconfiguration of my php or a bug of this aggregator module? Anyone had successful experience here?
Tks,
Hong

Feed URL
We need the URL of the feed in question to determine whether it is simply broken, or a bug on Drupal's part. But as long as the file's encoding is indicated correctly, Drupal should have no problem using it.

RSS Agregator
When adding items they are not grabbing any actual newsfeeds.
I follow the procedure putting in the RSS feed into the link area, I then tell it to update but it still shows '0' items. I want to have a page populated with news from all these different sources. How?
I have used feeds from Atom, Feedster,.xml, and .rss

thanks for your help.
Now I find out a way to work around it.
first I add this to the free service from feedburner.com then I use the new url from feedburner as the rss source and add to drupal, now it works...
but still wonder how to directly integrate without feedburner?
Great solution!
Howdy!
I've been trying to set up a feed from my message board which is "powered by FUDForum" and have had no success feeding into my Drupal test site.
But I just tried your suggestion of using http://FeedBurner.com and have now been able to get it working!
Thanks for that! :-)
