Issue Summary
It would be very nice if the one asking the question would be sent the answer by e-mail, if an e-mail address was known (either a registered user or the name given by an anonymous user is actually an e-mail address). This would save users from having to check back all the time.
Likewise, I'd like to see what others have requested: a notification being sent to the user responsible to answer "questions" when one is submitted.
Thanks.

I'm looking to address both of these issues via an optional question_notify submodule in v2.x

possibly mark this issue as duplicate?
#218182: Notification When User Submits Question
#3
No, that's not a duplicate.
That issue is about notifying a site admin when a question is submitted.
This issue is about notifying a user when a question is answered.
Both of these features are in the works. They'll be added to the 7.x branch first, and then possibly backported.

Excellent, thanks for the clarification!
