I need to optimize my site.

Where do I go to input keywords, title, META tags?

Is there a module that submits to directories and Search engines?

you might want to look at these two modules.

Node (key)words = i haven't use this one yet, not sure how it works

pathauto = I have used this one and I can see the difference with google

there is no submit module, but I thnk you will have much luck finding one on the internet. there are tons of them

They are not displayed anywhere on the page. I've looked at all options.

Is is possible to edit any of these files using something like DreamWeaver?

IMNSHO you don't need any SEO wizardry with Drupal. Drupal sites get always very good rankings as long as their content isn't totally non existant.

Oh, and metatags are sooooo 1995...

pathauto.module will help a lot. Drupal's in-built ping module notifies over a dozen website trackers that you've unpdated your pages. Keywords might help, but their importance has been deprecated by search engines.

Just last week Google changed their ranking algorithms, too, placing much more emphasis on regular updates and steady increases of link-ins (sudden massive link-ins are being deprecated). Also links not embedded in content will be counted as less significant than links from content. So the old link-exchange tactic may prove less effective, too.

Nevertheless Drupal works well at getting noticed. I have one site that averages fewer than 1000 hits a day that still comes up on the top of several topic-related searches. The trick is having relevant categories (as they are read by many search engines).

You might also look at the technorati tags modules floating around out there. One automatically converts your category terms into technorati tags, the other lets you set your own tags (but afaik is written only for 4.5.x). Those are maintaned off-site, last I checked a few days ago.

there you go great advice from two of the best ;-)

about pathauto; I was working on a new site and had a content issue -- and using adsense. goggle starting sending me lots of public ads

I added and turned on pathauto, and I haven't had a public ad since

I agree very much with the above advice and if there are two things that have not changed in the 10 years I've been on the internet; you need to have content and form link relationships wiht other webmasters
