As far as I can tell almost all of your questions you have asked have been answered.

If you are a newbie then you should start small and have realistic expectations about what you can achieve.

The Drupal forums are a fantastic resource ... but if you don't ask the right questions (specific questions and show that you have searched for answers elsewhere) then you might not get the exact answer you are looking for.

Hang in there though .. the first few months of working with Drupal are the hardest :)

Perhaps if you did some research and work prior to posting you would get more responses. For example, in the 5 days or so since you joined you've posted 8 times and you have:

*started 2 threads about email issues (same issue), both have been replied to and pointing you in the right direction - look into it, try it, and if still hitting problems reply with a post giving specifics of what you've tried and what the problem is

* posted about a memory error - google comes back with 383,000 hits if you search for "Fatal error: Allowed memory size", the vast majority of which I have no doubt will let you know what it means and how to fix it

* got a double post on profile forms, one of which has been answered - their are a number of posts/tutorials/handbooks to teach you how to do what you want, and yes, it can be a major pain in the proverbial to track down things in the plethora of information IMHO

* posted about a "security" issue - that isn't a security issue, has been answered, and again, how to do what you want is probably in the plethora of information on this or other sites

* started your posts here by basically asking someone to hold your hand building your site - again answered

* post that no one is helping or even daring to answer

May sound a little harsh, but you can't just grab something as complicated and powerful as Drupal and expect everyone to do the work for you to build your site. With Drupal, more than any other script I've used, I personally find it is "hard" work.

For your initial post, pretty sure people would have kicked in with advice if for example you had posted something along the lines of:

"I'm trying to set up a site with the following fuctionality [list functionality, IMHO preferably numbered].

For 1, I have looked at module x, y and z. I believe from my testing, module y would best fit my needs. Would anyone suggest another module would be better, bearing in mind my site requirements, and why?

For 2, I have looked at module x, y and z. I believe x would best fit my needs but I am having problems installing it, see [inset link to a specific post asking for help on that module - IMHO too many questions in one thread is not good]. Would anyone suggest another module would be better, bearing in mind my site requirements, and why?

etc."

To me anyway, that would show you've done some work, put some thought into it and would make me more inclined to do some "hand holding" (that is if I new what I was doing but still a noobie here too!).

If you expect help, do the work, explain exactly what you've researched and tried and exactly what the problem is and you'll have a better response I'm sure.

My 2 cents :)
