Help! Need to change taxonomy of lots of images

Hi, I'm using taxonomy permissions to grant permissions to certain roles to images in my galleries.

I have 1000's of images in lots of galleries.

My problem is that i need to change the taxonomy of all of these images and i can't find a way to do it other than to edit each one, which will take me about 200 years!

Is there a way to do it through the UI or failing that, through the DB?

There are a couple of modules for managing term-node relationships. I would try them on a testing copy of the installation first, especially to see if the permissions are affected and how.
