Has anyone used XAMPP to install Drupal on a localhost? Comments? Considerations? Love it? Hate it? I'm just starting out and was given XAMPP as a usefull tool to install Drupal on my system as a localhost. I'd appreciate feedback you might have.

Thanks,

I use XAMPP on my laptop at home and it's good. Once you have it set up you don't have to worry about it too much and you can just focus on drupal a lot more.

On Windows I recommend Web.Developer Server Suite. You can get the Community Edition from Source Forge.

XAMPP is as good as any similar package, plus it is familiar to many in case you encounter any trouble.
