I've tried out the friends modules that are available, but none of them seam to work flawlessly throughout the site. My site is www.georgia-cops.com and I want to be able to give people the option to click "add as friend" in the forum, off an FAQ topic, etc.

The idea of the site is to give cops in georgia a central FAQ regarding GA law, almost like a cross between FAQ and Wiki, so therefor I'd like a friend list module that allows people to hook up with others on there so they can keep them for future contact, etc...

Any ideas?

I'm a fairly new drupaller, but this is what I used to establish relationships, you can assign relationship types under admin/ user management / relationships

I also used
http://drupal.org/project/wikitools

when in forums my name is highlighted and anyone can then go to my profile page and request to be added, Not sure this is what you want. Also it allows you to click on someone's location, state, city and will link all users from that area. great feature to have on one's site.
