Description

I am using the newest release of the Bibliography Module, and I am having some frustrations with the Author information field.

I have noticed two bugs here:

First, sometimes the field displays on the completed page as "No author information available." even though I've entered it numerous times. No matter what I enter, it doesn't stick.

Second, on different entries, I have used the same formatting for Author name, but it displays in two different ways: "mcKibenbill." and "McKibben B. "

Also, 'Full text' isn't displaying on the completed entry.

Thanks for looking into this.

I haven't seen this behavior before.

Did you upgrade from a previous version or is it a clean install?
Did you create these entries from scratch using the form or did you import them from file?
On the formatting issue, when you edit these entries do the names show up identical in the input form? How are they entered? (Please paste an example here) Is there a period after the first name (i.e. mckibben bill.)?

Obviously these are major issues and I would like to see them resolved.

It wasn't a clean install.

Tonight I will go ahead and delete all this content, uninstall the module, reinstall the module, and then re-create my entries. If the problem persists after this, I will let you know.

Thanks.

Okay.

So I just deleted the few bibliographic entries I made. I erased biblio, then reinstalled the newest version. I updated my databases.

I created an entry: http://community-radio-online.knock-twice.com/?q=node/8

And no matter how I enter in the author's name -- Michelle Chen; Chen, Michelle; Chen Michelle -- the entry displays "No author information available".

I tried recreating the previously mentioned McKibben error as well... but as you can see here: http://community-radio-online.knock-twice.com/?q=biblio, none of my entries are displaying author information.

When you say you erased biblio, did you uninstall it on the "?q=admin/build/modules/uninstall" page? If not, you will still have the old database tables. Just erasing/changing the php code is not enough.

Also, just so you know, "uninstalling" the module will delete any "biblio" type entries, so you don't have to do it manually.

I'm going to be releasing a new beta soon (maybe later today) which fixes a few issues that have cropped up since the last one, so you might want to wait until then, but I think a complete re-install should fix your problem.
