c-c-m commentedI had forgotten that Advanced forum is a module, not a theme, so I realized that there's a folder that should be placed under modules folder. I investigated it and found a po/ folder with a file called cs.po I don't know how should I edit this file, but I opened it with a notepad and edited some sentences and renamed it as "es.po" (I want to translate it into Spanish). After that I uploaded the file into this folder: sites/all/modules/advanced forum/po/
But nothing changes. I tried with renaming it to es_ES.po but it was useless.
Then, I accessed Localization module and imported po file and it works (almost) perfect. (some strings have to be translated, such as "x weeks y days ago
by username" and
Would you like to get the spanish translation file? How can I send it to you?
michelleYou can just attach the file to this issue and I'll add it in. I don't know anything about translations other than I need to stick the file in "po" so please be sure it works properly as I'll just be taking your word on it.

michelleMarking this postponed until you get to it so it stops showing up on my active list. Just re-open it when you attach the translation.

c-c-m commentedHi Michelle,
That's the translation es_ES.po file. You'll realize that I only edited the file and changed the translations into Spanish. I don't know how to add more lines in order to translate them, such as the mentioned abve. Could you please tell me how to completely translate the whole module?
michelleI don't know anything about translating so I can't help you. All I do is take the .po file and commit it. You may want to talk to the guy who did the swedish translation or just look at that .po.
Will commit this a bit later today. It can always be updated if you add more.

michelleA bit late, sorry, but it's committed now.
Thanks,

michelleThis translation is likely out of date. Could someone update it please?

BlackNexus commentedI updated this translation.
How do I active it in the Site configuration after I upload it to the /translations directory ?
michelleI have added a .pot file for both branches of Advanced Forum. This takes into account the recent unexpected change of passing image file names through t() to make the buttons more easily translatable. (See #376540: images not translatable for more information.) This exception was made because it enhances the translatability but otherwise we are still in the string freeze and I expect no changes from what is in the .pot file. I will be releasing RC2 shortly and expect 1.0 to follow within a week if no further issues come up. If you are able to update this translation, please do so.
Thank you,
Michelle

shiolo commentedSory for the question, but I'm a newbie on translations. I download the .po files and place it in sites\all\modules\advanced_forum\translations?? Then what? because I did this and nothing happened.
Thanks for the help!
michelleThe .po files are already there... What happens after, I have no idea. My sites are in English. I suggest you ask in the forums where you're more likely to find someone who has used them.

xmariachi commentedHello,
is there any set of images in Spanish?
Or - how better could I produce a new set?
Thanks
Comment #17
johnwriter commentedAs per my suggestion Spanish Language is very tough for learning and translation purpose. So for better solution for language translation you can always use online language translator services. They can easily translate your language to Spanish language and also you can get many benefit from them.

xmariachi commentedHello,
as nobody answered, I'm going to produce an ES set of images.
I'll be using stable now, though I've seen there are some strong changes on structure of the translations and images on dev.
In any case, please share if you have done this already so we don't work twice...
Thanks

michelleNo one answered because it's hit or miss if I notice someone adding something to a closed issue...
Up to you if you want to do it. 1.x is still supported but I don't work on it very often so dunno when or if I'll get to it. If you do, set the issue active again so I see it.
