jpetso commentedEr, yeah, I'm sorry. I just neither have the resources nor the motivation to do this port.
For later reference, the mentioned "other request" is issue #241392: v5 version. If a developer undertakes a Drupal 5 backport, I'll happily accept patches. It shouldn't be very hard too, it's just that I'm not going to do it myself. Any takers?
I'm going to leave this issue open this time, assuming that it will likely *not* be the last backport request if I close it.
