You know how on Myspace when you sign up, you automatically get Tom as your friend? Would that be possible? So that I can select a default user to make as a friend to everyone?

I'd like to do this too... I see that the old Buddylist module for Drupal 5 allowed this: http://drupal.org/node/90424.
Does this work similarly in the Friend module of Drupal 6?
