I'm looking for full width too...

I think having this theme *fixed* is one of the nice features about it. I would suggest this to stay the default and if someone can provide a patch that would enable it as an option, it could go in. Otherwise, having fixed with is important for blogs where you want paragraphs to be easily readable.
