Something I've discovered that I wanted to pass on. The advanced file manager (and CKFinder) are incompatible with the Devel module IF the Devel module is set to add information to the page such as "Display memory usage" or "Display page timer". The module by itself is ok, but if it adds anything to a node the browser will throw an XML request error.

If anyone knows how to disable Devel for certain paths please let me know.

Looks like a Devel module problem, please try to fix it with them.
