Description

hi there,

thanks for the asset-module, that's been the big missing thing in drupal. unfortunately, i am experiencing an issue with formatting defaults:
in the settings of a node type, i find my cck-asset-field in the "display fields" category, but i can't select my imageache presets here. would not be a problem if the settings i do in the asset formatting defaults-page were recognized. if a change a value in the formatting presets, i don't see any effect in the corresponding listing: e.g. i have an imagecache-preset "image_medium" which i currently use with the image module to display a medium-size-image in the teaser listing. selecting this preset in the formatting preset for teasers, there's no effect.

another thing is that in the node type-settings, i set the label to "hidden" - but both (the title and the author) appear on listings.
a last thing: the views-integration. basically it works good, but i also can't control the imagecache preset here which makes it impossible e.g. to display assets as thumbnails in block listings.

especially the first issue described is a critical one, i think, because within the current state, it is not possible to define different matching image sizes for different views.

hope you can help,
schneck

Hey Stefan,

Thanks for taking your time to write this up. It looks like the issues you describe are already reported in other tickets though. There's one for imagecache 2 support, one for the presets not being taken into account for teasers (marked as critical and I'm working on fixing that one) and there's one for better views integration. All these issues are on the first page of the bug listing: http://drupal.org/project/issues/asset?categories=bug.

I'm not sure what you mean with the node type settings though. There's nothing in that configuration that has anything to do with assets. Can you tell me what exact settings you're altering and what your expected behavior would be?

hi wim,

a "sorry" twice: first, for not seeing the already reported bugs in the list (i applied a wrong filter on the issues-list...), and second for beeing confusing: with "node type settings", i mean the options you can set for cck-fields. under the tab "display fields", it's possible the set whether e.g. the label shall be visible or not. usually, cck-fields react depending on this setting, but asset ignores it. imho, the right behaviour would be not to display asset-title and -author if the label-setting of the asset's cck-field is set to "hidden".

thanks,
stefan

I understand what you mean now. I'll see if I experience the same behavior and fix it if it shows up.

I'm on this, but I won't let this block the 1.0 release.

I'ld be very happy if you could add a feature for views. Sometimes it is very important (listings with picture, titel etc.) when the pictures are shown without title and author. Is there a chance to get a views-selection "asset-picture without 'datatext'"? Or a function to select, if the title and/or copyright (author) is shown?

btw: great module! One of the most important for me.
