How does the 'Referral Page' work?

Hi there,
Forgive me if this is a very daft question but if one selects 'Referral Page' under Site Configuration, how does one go about using the referral module?
Nothing appears in the users' profile pages...
How exactly does this function work?
(I'm very new to Drupal & PHP)

I'm not that new to Drupal or PHP and I don't know the answer to this question. Can someone help us out?

Go to Administer>menus>navigation and enable "Your Referrals" leaf. All referals feature now is on that page.
