date criteria partially ignored

it looks like the 'before' part of date based search is being wrongly interpreted. i just did this search: 'after:08/01/2005 before:08/30/2005'. the query that was issued had this clause: ' n.created BETWEEN 1105160400 AND 1181275200' but that 2nd timestamp corrosponds to a different date in 2007!
