This looks like a very promissing module.
Since the maintainer is now Abandoned Modules is was wondering if there are plans for future maintenance.

I took over this module just to apply the already made & tested patches.
I will not develop further on this module, so it all depends on everyone's goodwill.
But there are other modules now that have the same functionallity and are alive.
Have a look at the http://www.drupal.org/project/domain module for example.
