How Do You Hide The Node Title?

I'm doing everything correctly as far as I can tell, but the node title still appears. I've selected "Automatically generate the title and hide the title field" in the content type, and the pattern is blank...but the auto-generated title still shows up on the node page.
How can I fix this?

"hid the title field" is only for submit not for view the node.
