This is really simple...but I just canot see how to delete a component that has been added to a Webform.

Ok I changed themes and then the delete column appeared...! So issue resolved and status now closed.

Issue still active using Drupal 6.14 and Webforms 6.x-2.8. Probably an issue with the theming code itself.

i had the same trouble there. I was using the Acquia Prosper and the delete button did not show. I changed the theme to Bluemarine and the delete button showed up so i could delete components. I am on drupal 6.14 aswell with the webform

I had the same issue. To delete without changing the theme, simply add '/delete' to the end of the component's edit URL. Example: /node/816613/webform/components/4/delete
