Home button will NOT function properly or let me remove it... EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING

willbradley - May 22, 2008 - 21:00

I've literally spent the past 3 hours trying to get the HOME button to either 1. GO THE HELL AWAY, or 2. ACTUALLY WORK. I have utterly failed. The home button works as long as you are on the home page, but if you go to any other page and try to click on the home button - it says "page not found". I went to the drupal home page a few times and it did the same thing.... what the hell? Is this a bug or something? I can't find anything on it. I see the entry in the "menu" menu and i try to disable it, or delete it altogether... nothing. I literally CAN NOT get rid of this freaking home button, and it seems to be there no matter what. my god.. I'm tearing my hair out... plz help...

okay i've figured out how...

Okay i've figured out what the problem is...

When I put my cursor over the "home" button, from the home page - it says http://willbradleymusic.com/node (which is the correct address for my main page)

but from any other page - such as "bio", or "calendar" - the link becomes http://willbradleymusic.com/node/node (WRONG!) - so why is it doing this, how do i direct it to /node instead of /node/node - is this something I can change in the content management screen? The home button does not seem to show up in the "menus" menu either. Can I change this path somewhere in the physical drupal directory?

Thanks...

didja fix it?

i looked at your site with ff2 and ie7. in both, the HOME link at the bottom left indicated http://willbradleymusic.com, which it should be. i don't think you should have been seeing "http://willbradleymusic.com/node" on a mouse-over; drupal is supposed to intercept/redirect as indicated in your site information page. could be wrong.

if it is fixed, good job!

Hi, Sorry, working intensely

Hi,

Sorry, working intensely to get this up this weekend so forgot to get back on here...

I did fix the problem. It was the theme I was using - using the "Burnt" theme, it seemed that it created a home button by default which i could not remove. It directed correctly from node/ (home page - in my case a welcome screen). but from any other content page i had created, it would try to re-direct to /node/node. I plan on getting onto the theme page to see if people reported the similar problem, but it won't be until im done working...

I switched to the B7 theme which instantly removed the home button. It was definitely the burnt theme which caused it.
anyway thanks for checking!
