Hi, trying to understand how works the latest Drigg,

Settings for automatic voting of stories voted by deciders
How many votes the system will assign per hour. IMPORTANT: this number will be multiplied by (the number of stories voted by deciders PLUS the number of stories with enough REAL votes). The result will determine the number of votes per hour. So, if the deciders voted for 3 stories, and enough real users voted for 2 stories, and you picked 2 votes per hour, the system will assign 2*(3+2) = 10 votes per hour (which is a lot):
=> What means stories with enough real votes ? Do you mean all stories which get REAL votes ?

Settings for bulk voting
=> what is bulk voting ?

Drigg approval queue
Autopromote 1 entry in the "approved" queue every X minutes (0 for none):
=> Can you tell me what is the approval queue ? And what is the use of this function ?

Thanks for this new version, Drigg is really powerful!

Hi.

Alright, let's see :-D

Yep, that is correct. Basically, Drigg will treat stories voted by deciders AND stories with enough real votes the *same*. The number of REAL votes necessary for that is set in the box "How many REAL votes a story needs before it is treated as if a decider voted on it. 0 to disable this function:"

=> what is bulk voting ?

If a user has the "bulk voting" permission (set in Drupal), then his/her votes will NEVER count. Instead, every time that user votes, the system will assign N votes by randomly chosen "voters".

=> Can you tell me what is the approval queue ? And what is the use of this function ?

Sorry... I see it's confusing. If you enable the "approval queue" module, then entries with a future date aree NOT shown ANYWHERE. Instead, they are added to an "approval queue" -- you will see the menu entry in the navigation menu. This way, you can add stories beforehand, and then (for example) release them slowly at night.

This is all quite complicated and fancy stuff. I realise that Drigg is becoming one of those projects that REALLY needs documentation, because it's actually impossible to work out what it does without a lot of trial -and-error...

However, the port to D6 now has priority. After that, there are lots of important new features. And...

Merc.
