Hi Michelle,
I did quite some reading in here but my attemts trying to fix the profile only slowly made things worse.
Advprofile module stats: This page is empty because no settings apply with your current configuration.
Panels states:
Top
1. Does not meet context requirements
Left
1. My Posts
Middle
1. Does not meet context requirements
2. Does not meet context requirements
3. Does not meet context requirements
Bottom
1. Does not meet context requirements
For the rest there are no error messages ;).
Were do I start troubleshooting?

michelleIt's telling you there's a problem with the context so I suggest deleting and re-adding the relationship or simply reverting the panels page and mini panel back to module defaults, which are set up to work with bio.

dims commentedThank you for the answer.
The "Does not meet context requirements" is solved. I re-added the relationship as you told me to and the error message is gone. Yet the profile is not working (no change to my first screenshot). The advanced profile modul states:" This page is empty because no settings apply with the current configuration".

michelleAssuming this was due to the beta 4 problem. Re-open if beta 5 didn't fix it.

michelleWhy did you set this active? I'm going to close it again unless you provide some text to go with that status change.

michelleWell, I was telling the OP to re-open it if they were still having a problem. So you're telling me you're having the exact same issue matching the screenshots and everything? If not, I need information about your setup because the module works fine with panels beta 5.
Michelle

Horst77 commentedgot the same problem.
michelle@Horst77 - Please provide some more information. The module works "out of the box" just fine with panels beta 5 and both bio and nodeprofile so you folks have a problem somewhere on your particular setups. If you want my help figuring out what you've got wrong, I need details.

kobnim commentedHi Michelle,
I'm having the same problem ("Does not meet context requirements").
I am using alpha5.
I tried deleting and recreating the relationships (on "admin/panels/panel-page/userprofile/edit/context"), but that didn't solve the problem.
Then I tried installing/enabling the bio module (suggested above by alippai) but that didn't solve the problem either.
I will see if I can narrow down the problem. In the meantime, if anyone else has a home-brewed remedy, please post it here and I'll give it a try.
Thanks,
Mindy
Comment #15
kobnim commentedAn odd thing happened as I was trying to figure out what was causing my "Does not meet context requirements" problem.
I deleted and recreated the uprofile type, and this caused the "edit user profile" tab to disappear from mysite/user/1
To track down what was happening, I added debug code into the nodeprofile_helper module and saw that "uprofile" was missing from the advanced_profile_typenames list.
I then looked at the advancedprofilekit code, to see how nodeprofile types get added to the advanced_profile_typenames list, and saw that it happens on the advanced profile admin page, when the user checks that type. Aha, thought I, maybe I just need to check the "user profile" box on the admin page. However, when I went to the admin page there was no "user profile" checkbox. Hmmm. Why is there no checkbox? I looked at the "uprofile" cck-definition and saw that "use this content type as a nodeprofile for users" was unchecked, and that "max population" was set to 0. Hmmm. Maybe if I check the "use this content type" box, then uprofile will be recognized as a bona fide nodeprofile type, the checkbox will appear on the admin page, and after clicking that checkbox, the "edit user profile" tab will reappear. Unforunately, that did not happen.
So now I'm doubly at a loss. Instead of one problem I have two!
I don't know if the following information is relevant, but on the office chance it provides a clue, here is what happened before I deleted the user profile:
I noticed that when I went to /user/1, the "view" tab contained only "Topics I've Participated In". It did not contain any of the other user profile fields (perhaps because I hadn't filled them out), and did not contain any content from any of my other nodeprofile types. For my other nodeprofile types (eg "my photos"), I saw the "edit my photos" tab, but I didn't see see "(view) my photos".
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

kobnim commentedThe good news:
After doing a bunch of "stuff", the "Does not meet context requirements" problem is fixed.
In addition, the "view" tab now displays the full "user profile", not just "Topics I've Participated In".
The bad news:
I kept careful track of the steps I went through, in the hopes that once the problem was resolved I could backtrack and figure out the culprit. Sad to say, now that the problem is solved, I have not been able to recreate it through backtracking.
I will now put this issue back to bed.
In the course of working on this, I believe I tripped over what may be a small bug:
if you delete and recreate the user profile, the "User Profile" checkbox does not appear on the Advanced Profile's admin page. You must manually go into the uprofile definition and check "Use this content type as a nodeprofile for users". Once that's done, you can go back to the Advanced Profile's Admin page and check the "User Profile" box. I will post this as a separate issue.
Michelle, thank you for a great module. It's the best module I've seen so far for illustrating general techniques to do most of the things I've been wondering about.

MGParisi commentedUninstalled Bio, re-installed Bio, lost some of my panels setup, still did not get into advanced profile setup. Disabled and uninstalled then entered advanced profile... no luck...
Then re-installed Bio, did not setup settings... went to advanced profile... no luck...
Went to bio, setup bio, re setup my profile, could not get it to work. ..
Reset setup:
* This page is empty because no settings apply with your current configuration.
* The configuration options have been reset to their default values.
* This page is empty because no settings apply with your current configuration.
still get the
"This page is empty because no settings apply with your current configuration."
Deleted User Data! Yes I backed UP:)
Been using advanced profiles since it came out. :(

light-blue commentedI am seeing the similar trouble, so I started from a fresh installation. Same problem. Below is an export. I have another installation working fine, so after comparing, I noticied that when I click the + in panels2, the Node Context area does NOT show 'Content Fieldgroup'. I wonder if the others here exhibit the same problem. Any idea how to fix?

kulfi commentedConfused re bio/nodeprofile dependency - does this module/panel work with core profiles? If so, what does the resulting profile page look like? I am getting the same results as the images attached in the original ...
MGParisi commentedThe solution I came up with was to switch from Bio to nodeprofile! That seems to get advanced profiles to register itself. Now I have other (non-related) problems! But If you switch its one way to get things working.
