Custom profile page module

Hi all im using drupal 5.2 and i wanna create a simple sign up box which has a username, check availability of username, password, retype password and name field ect.. but i wanna know if i can place this sign up box anywhere i want? where do i create it? pls help
and yeah one more thing ..

i wanna create a custom profile page where there is a image box where user can upload image and add data to his profile.. pls help.. something like orkut profile page.. is there any module for it? profile plus wont give that much controls for me to place desired text box where i want... thats the problem.. please help
