The whole menu system under "Derivatives" seems a bit screwy.

1) "Add Derivative" should be a local task tab directly under "Derivatives". There should also be a tab for each current derivative (e.g. "thumb").

2) The add/transform/view local tasks under the current derivative (e.g. "thumb") are useless and should be removed.

3) Within a derivative (e.g. "thumb"), each transform has an "insert" link that seems to do exactly the same as the "New" link. Maybe the insert links should be removed?

4) the link "New" should be more explicit "New Transform".

5) I also think the menu hook for the derivatives section should be handled by the derivatives module. I am not sure where it is right now.

These were my observations, perhaps I was wrong?

I appreciate your input here, I'm currently working on changing the derivatives administration for the d6 version. I must admit that it is very messy, but it performed what I needed it to, at least at first pass. This will change shortly, and be backported to d5.
