How hard would it be to only display parent taxonomy terms? I am using a locative taxonomy with lots of child terms which make the page too big!
Also instead of checkboxes have linked terms without the search button?
Has anyone else hacked these functionalities, or been thinking about it?

There is already an option to use select lists rather than check boxes; that will reduce the physical size. I could probably add a depth setting, but I'm not sure how useful that would be since it would apply to all vocabularies. The problem with linked terms is that it would mess up people who use the node_type_filter, although I'm sure there is some way to code around that.

Is there a link I can look at to get a better idea of the problem?
