Wordpress 2.5 to Drupal 5.x and 6.x utility program.

superjacent - May 27, 2008 - 08:22

I've just released (or more precisely - updated my 5.x converter) a Wordpress 2.5 to Drupal 6.x converter. The user now has a choice of importing into Drupal 5.x or 6.x. Quite a few other features or improvements have been included and for further check here http://prime357.org/node/95.

this is great but... I need

this is great but...

I need to miograte users, their links to the topics, respect unpublished content, the works...

I need Wp2Drupal for wp2.5

Is there any way you could get this to work like wp2drupal?

I'm not familiar with

superjacent - June 5, 2008 - 09:26

I'm not familiar with wp2drupal so I can't make any comparisons.

Users are migrated and they are linked to their respective posts/comments. If that is not happening please let me know.

I'm unsure re "respect unpublished content, the works..." what you actually mean by that. As of the latest update, the user has the option to determine which posts are published or unpublished according to the existing Wordpress status types (draft, inherit etc.).

and catagories?Are they

gettingpissed - June 5, 2008 - 09:56

and catagories?

Are they migrated?

BTW, if some content is unpublished on wp, will it still be unpublished on drupal

Categories are migrated

superjacent - June 5, 2008 - 10:10

Categories are migrated (along with Tags).

You have the option of deciding which posts are published or unpublished based on the Wordpress status. It's better explained here along with screenshots.

gettingpissed - June 5, 2008 - 10:22

found another one on that website... node 58... seems to give me a few more options, ill go with it...

oh wait, thats the same one!

manual convinced me, now yo can delete my account =)

(the name "onlyregiteredfordownload...heehee") should be a subttle hint ;)

Ok, i tried it out...

gettingpissed - June 9, 2008 - 09:59

Ok, i tried it out...

Very good... but...

On a major move (took your program half an hour) catagory hierarchy got screwd up big time, as in, every catagory that used to be a sub catagory, now doesn't exist...

It does in the database, but not being hooked up to the vocab means it never shows up...

Its like your program inserted random numbers in places it definitly shouldent have... (term parent table)

1. Catagory hierarchy needs to be fixed (please fix!)
2. recent posts need to be fixed (leave, wordpress didn't make titles)
3. users need to be made to be registered when they did on wp not shure what that was, could be wp glitch (leave, users on wp didn't have a registered time, so they just get one assigned...)

your program is great, truly great, but i HAVE to have the catagories working, otherwise its just a big waste of time...

please help

You need this if you're gonna make a website

I think all your concerns

superjacent - June 12, 2008 - 13:27

I think all your concerns are answered here. Version 1.04 has just been released.

Thanks a LOT for the update,

gettingpissed - June 12, 2008 - 13:54

Thanks a LOT for the update, My fixing script is now a whole lot shorter, btw, does this address the issue of every single post being invisible?

Look at the node_access table after importing and you will see that unless the user is an administrator, they will see nothing...

Please fix this too if you have a chance, I will look into it too...

Found it: Just run this for every node...

INSERT INTO node_access VALUES("{nid}", 0, "all", 1, 0, 0)

I think... not actually sure what this table does, so plz ask around first

You need this if you're gonna make a website

WpDrupal for Mac OS X

milehighlife - June 17, 2008 - 17:17

I installed version 1.04 for Mac OS X, was able to connect to both my Wordpress and Drupal databases, but after selecting all options (# of records, format options, assigning Wordpress -> Drupal content types, etc) the Import button does not activate (stays greyed out). Is there a hitch somewhere to get the Import button to activate? When I click on the button 'Analyze Wordpress', I see my Wordpress info.

Thanks in advance!

I've created a thread here

superjacent - June 18, 2008 - 22:31

I've created a thread here hopefully get some Mac users to confirm or respond. Unfortunately, I can't test the Mac version. I'll send a couple of emails out to some known Mac users of the converter as well, get their opinion.

Can this be done locally?

bigsend - June 19, 2008 - 03:45

I don't think this will work on HostMonster since we used shared IPs.

Couldn't I just download a copy of my Wordpress and Drupal directories and have this program run on them locally?

Thanks

Yes, you can, but MySql must

superjacent - June 19, 2008 - 05:21

Yes, you can, but MySql must be installed. This is something you should have anyway, helps heaps with testing your site before you actually commit changes to your live site, regardless of whether you are importing or not.

Manual page - Connection Settings
Logging into a remote database Relevant re - your Hostmonster issue.

I would love this wouldn't

arielon - July 24, 2008 - 18:36

I would love this wouldn't be a locally executable app, but some sort of online app, so no problems with OS version arise.

Currently, I'm using Windows 98 on a friend's house and can't use it because of an error...

I've posted the details on the site.

There are PHP or online type

superjacent - July 24, 2008 - 22:02

There are PHP or online type modules available and this app is just an alternative method. Unfortunately Windows 98 is not accounted for. For Windows version it all starts from 2000.
