There seems to be a bug in the german localization file or the captcha module. The german localization i'snt displayed fully. The same problem is also with the actual developer version for Drupal 5.

It's very likely that the German translation is not up to date as it is not actively maintained.
None of the CAPTCHA module maintainers speak German.
I speak Dutch, that's close, but not enough to be comfortable with fixing German strings ;)
Can you be more specific what is wrong, what should change, what is missing, etc,...
The proper way to do this i writing a patch (see http://drupal.org/patch) for the german localization file captcha/po/de.po in the module. But as you are a self proclaimed newbie, I don't know if you are familiar with this.
Any way, precise reporting what is wrong is a first step.
