I assume you are talking about the collapsed menus under the text area during node creation.
I've seen quite a few posts like this, where those were missing.
what modules are installed ?
what version of zen ?
have you checked on a default theme ?
was this an upgrade from another version ?
Has this always been a problem or did it just appear ?

This is a brand new
This is a brand new installation of Drupal 5.7.
I have not installed any module other than the Core ones.
The version of Zen is zen-5.x-1.1, but it also happens with Garland default theme.
I have installed Drupal this morning. It seems like there's something wrong either with the server or with the installation.
I have another installation of Drupal 5.5 for my personal website, on Bluehost.com as this one is, but it works just fine.
Could it be something with .htaccess or settings.php?

no, and now that you have ruled out a contrib module causing the problems and that the same thing is happening on a defaul theme.
Inspect your misc folder for the .js files insure you have them all uploaded and that none of them have become corrupted.

Now it works
I have re-set to default all of the options, and I deleted the nice_primary_menus, which was just installed, not in use. I did the same with the nice_menu: I was not using it, but I deleted it.
Could it be that it was the nice_menus module?
I have tried the zen theme now, and the links show up.
Nice menus is not causing this issue on my personal website, where I also have the zen theme in use.
Thank you very much for your help!
In know that Firefox has
In know that Firefox has some JS issues that can cause the fieldset titles not to appear at all. I've not seen this particular problem before but it looks similar. If it happens again it would be worth checking a) in another browser b) the page source to see if the HTML is all there i.e. could be a browser rendering problem.
