This module sounds like a tiny and valuable add-on for the existing SwitchTheme module.
It would be great if you would turn this module into a patch to add this feature to SwitchTheme, and abandon this module afterwards.

There are already too many tiny helper modules in the wild that increase confusion for Drupal users.

I'd be more than willing to let you include it as a sub module to SwitchTheme, as I don't have the time to look at the SwitchTheme code and apply an adequate patch.
