I have a client that needs to transfer user and ad information into a new Drupal-based childcare services site. The site currently runs Geodesic Classifieds software that is not quite designed for service-oriented e-commerce.

We are looking for the best way to transfer existing user and ad data into Drupal.
The client also may need help just setting up a services-based site (if possible) using Drupal.
I know enough about Drupal to help, but even more about how to pull data out of Geodesic Classifieds. I'm hoping there is some way to do a bulk user upload and bulk upload of ad information.

The abstractness of the PHP code leaves me confused so far.
