I know I've seen this discussed before, but I can't find it again!
I would like to have a page that operates like the drupal default home page. The one with the listing of published stories and stuff. Something like a "News" page. The client wants that page to not be the home page. Could someone get me started in the general direction?

create a news content type
create a new taxonomy = http://drupal.org/handbook/modules/taxonomy
drupal automagically creates a listing page for this for you
beyond that you can use views.module if necessary for something more robust.
