I already had those set in the user module. Should I re-index? I re-indexed and that didnt seem to do any good. I can search now and before and come up with image results from the user's profile, but not the actual profile or the text.
No, just check and see if your entire site has been indexed...also the user results are separate from the node results. You have to click on the User tab on the search results page.
but there are 333 content items that were indexed but I know including users there should be more correct? I am helping someone out with the site and it was built by someone else so they may have changed some things. The tabs are not showing up in the search so I do not know what they did. It would be cool to have the users come up in the regular search because sometimes users are businesses on this site or suppliers with company names etc..

Enable searching of users/profiles
Under admin > user management > access control > user module, enable "access user profiles"
