Remix Reading announces bounties worth €240

telex4 - July 6, 2005 - 13:43

Remix Reading, the UK's first localised Creative Commons project, has posted a set of bounties for critical fixes to the development version of the web site. Developers familiar with Drupal should read through the details and contact the technical team as soon as possible to start work and get paid.

Bounties are EUR 70 or EUR 50, depending on the size of the task. The work involves fixing some issues with the development site, which has seen some significant changes including adopting folksonomy, the Creative Commons module, merging five node types into one new node type, creating a new theme and fixing various issues that have plaugued the project of late. The full descriptions for each of the four tasks can be found here:

Remix Reading has been one of the most successful Creative Commons projects in the world, attracting media attention locally, nationally and internationally. We will soon be expanding a network of Remix projects, with Brighton and Deptford (in London) slated as the next candidates. Developers who produce good work will be welcomed into the technical team, and can become more involved with this exciting project.

As one of the lead

Bèr Kessels - July 6, 2005 - 16:45

As one of the lead developers I would like to add that RemixReading is also looking into development of a drupal for artists distribution.
Most of the changes where we put bounties out for, are there, so that we can develop such a distro and thus develop remixreading.org better no top of the Drupal development. The current Remixreading contains a lot of custom code. Especially the theme contains a lot of that. Most tasks are merely removing that custom code and replacing it by more general code.

So if you join the team, or pick up a bounty, you might also be helping yourself if you hae anything like an artists website planned in Drupal.

if you dont like the choices being made for you, you should start making your own.
