I think there is a manual on this if you take sometime to look in the documentation section or search the forums.

Basically, though you will need to do a few things.

1. Create a database via your online hosting account.
Take note of the DB Name, DB hostname (eg localhost, like in Xampp, though some webhosts have something else ), DB username & password.

2. If you are using phpmyadmin, go to that DB and import the drupal DB Mysql files on your PC.

3. If your Drupal site will be at www.yoursite.com/drupal_57_rm ... use an FTP client, like Filezilla or any other and upload the whole drupal_57_rm folder into your root folder.
If you Drupal site will be accessible at www.mysite.com, then open drupal_57_rm and simply drag & drop ALL Drupal files into the root folder.

4. Via your online File manager, locate the file /sites/default/settings.php
Locate the lines below and edit the highlighted line.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Database URL format:
* $db_url = 'mysql://username:password@localhost/databasename';
* $db_url = 'mysqli://username:password@localhost/databasename';
* $db_url = 'pgsql://username:password@localhost/databasename';
*/

"$db_url = 'mysql://your-Drupal-DB Username:your-DB-Password@localhost/your DB-Name'; <= replace the Xampp DB values with those in the online DB you just made
$db_prefix = ''; <= Only change this if your DB name has a prefix
"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Normally, your site should be accessible.

Thank you lionheart, I appreciate you taking the time to answer this question. I know that it should be documented in a certain spot but your result comes up first on the search and I'm sure you've helped more than just one person with your answer. (:

Do you have a webhost set-up for the live site? Or are you going to use XAMPP?

If you need more help, you need to be more specific to know where you currently stand or how far you have gone since your last post or since silverwing responded.

The question is where do you want to publish your site as already asked? (This applies to oneofakind2727 as well )

Do you have an already existing hosting account and you need help getting your site there?
If the answer is yes, you could as well download and install an ftp client such as filezilla from http://filezilla-project.org/download.php which is free and very easy to install & use to upload the files.
If you Drupal site is not going to be in the root folder of your site, it might be more convenient to rename the Drupal folder from "drupal_57_rm" to something shorter like "drupal" (or something more appropriate) so it's accessible at www.yoursite.com/drupal instead of www.yoursite.com/drupal_57_rm ...
Just a thought.
If it's going to be at www.yoursite.com ... that does not count.
