I don't want the timestamp ("

Sorry, something is missing in the post. I would like to turn off the timestamp that appears in the code of every field where XStandard is used. The docs indicate that this can be turned off in the open source version. How do I do that?

You can't. That feature is part of some special marketing arrangement for "partner" CMS projects (you can read all about it here).

So, where it says this on that page:
To disable the time stamp in View Source, use the following tag:
1.
Does that only apply to use by a "CMS Vendor, " and Drupal doesn't meet the standard? That would be a deal-killer for me. I don't want remnant XStandard tags all through my database, should I ever decide to stop using that module. Thanks!

Well, as it says on that page, in order to qualify Drupal would need to enter a marketing agreement with Belus and feature a prominent link to their XHTML resources at xhtml.com from drupal.org. I believe Joomla has done so, but as far as I can tell there hasn't been any interest from the Drupal community.
If you don't like the timestamp you can always spring for the Pro version (or write a module that strips out the timestamp, depending on how highly you value your time...).

Oh, well. That's a let down. This looks like the best of the wysiwyg tools, but having "Kilroy was here" written on every blessed node that I enter just isn't going to happen. Wish I had the talent to write a module to strip that out! Thanks for presenting it, anyway. Maybe some day they'll drop the ham-handed advertisement so the tool will be useful without being annoying. In the meantime, I suppose I'm off to TinyMCE.
