Chat Module and Hits

I am planning to use the Chat room Module and had a question.

Since this chat room module uses Ajax I am wondering if each 'chat hit' (or chat comment) will be counted a web hit.I read somethere that Ajax hits are not considered regular hits.

I ask this question as 'web/user hits' are very important to my side as I rank in the bottom :-( interms of hits.

Please advice.
