My drupal 6.2 installation has a problem. First there are duplicate items from the 5.7 installation. And installation modules related to images and galleries appear in the root.
When i try to edit the menus however, i get a white page of death. If i deactivate all modules, it works but the gallery and image menus disappear...
How can i fix this? I saw the devel module resets the menus but im not sure it isn't just for the Primary and Secondary menus. Also, seeing how easily the site goes innoperable, i dont want to add another module that breaks everything! For instance, when i add the view menu or the cck, the site stops working... I have to delete the module via ftp because the modules page doesn't work either!
How can i fix this mess? I dont know how to reimport just the contents...
thanks for any help.

it seems certain modules are affecting the menu editing. Any of these where causing the problem independently.
- Image Galery module 6.x-1.0-alpha1
- Image Import module 6.x-1.0-alpha1
- Advanced help module 6.x-1.0
anyone has any ideas?

First of all, when you get a "white page of death" this usually indicates that a fatal error occurred during PHP processing. See http://drupal.org/node/201872 as a starting point. Also look in your server error logs.
Secondly, you list 2 modules which are at alpha release. This means that they cannot be considered "stable" and are probably not suitable for production use. Have you checked the issue queues for these projects to see whether other users are having similar problems?
Generally you shouldn't use modules at alpha/beta release without testing them first on a development site, to make sure that they do what you want and won't cause the sorts of problems you are experiencing.
Hope this helps,

I have this problem as well. On a brand new install of v6.6, enabling the Upload module makes the Menu module load a blank page. When I disable the Upload module, the Menu module works fine.
edit: fixed by increasing PHP's memory_limit
what did you increase it to?
what did you increase it to? mine is set at 32M and I'm not able to drag the handles to rearrange the items
