I'm still trying to figure things out so please be understanding.

I have developed a web site and have both events and forums. Because I want to have both public and private forums I decided I need to have taxonomy access control. It is working properly for events but I cannot get it to work correctly for forums. When I include the forum topics block it lists the private forum topics even for users who are not authorized to read them. When I add a menu item to point to the forums node it lists the public forum but none of the topics.

I'm using Drupal 5.7, not 6 but did you ever figure out this problem?

No ... I did not figure it out. I just created a new menu item and that worked correctly, but it is a workaround ... not a fix.
