[More info] Can't seem to get this to work

I've setup a roles assigned from within the context of the group. I've verified this by running a dprint on the $user variable:

(
[2] => authenticated user
[3] => guild leader
[4] => guild officer
[5] => guild member
)

In user access control, I've set guild leader, guild officer, and guild member but NOT authenticated user to be able to create "Story" content types. When I click the "Create content" link in the groups menu, though, I get: "No content types available." If I turn on access for authenticated users, it allows the creation of "Story" content types.

So it looks like 'create content' is completely ignoring the group specific roles. Any ideas?
