I would actually like to know the same thing.

Drupal 7. is there a search forum? or do you have to search site, and hope that it hits one of the forum topics?

I am also looking, sorta astounded, that there is no ability to search and return by post in a Drupal Forum/Advanced Forum.

I guess comments are searched but results only return the Node the comment is attached to.
