Do research what should be changed and port Disknode module to Drupal 6

it should be great.
I'm using this module a lot, so if disknode won't be ported to drupal6, I'll never install new version of drupal.

I agree. This is what's keeping me from upgrading to Drupal 6. I'm going to look into porting it though I've never done it before.

Any news?
If you think or you haven't time to do it, please try to suggest a method that allow disknode users to have their links generated by disknode working, without the module installed.
What I want say, in a few words, is that I'd like to migrate to drupal6, but if I disable disknode, all my links to uploaded files doesn't work.
What can we do?

I suppose the way to go is make a script to add "disknode files" to their node as attatchment. If somebody has done it, I would appreciate if they share the script; if not I will have to do one someday, any help/hint/... is welcome
