I've modified the notify.module to be able to email out new and edited events but am looking for some help to do only email out UPCOMING events.

But thought people using the Event module may be more appropriate to help with this.

Event for Drupal 8 is unrelated to older versions. If an issue similar to this one exists, please open a new issue with the 8.x branch.
