email for drupal site

Hello all,
I'm wondering if there is a module that would allow me to integerate my email within my Druapl site. In otherwords, instead of creating a gmail account @mydomain.com and having a seperate login entity - I'd like to login to mydomain.com, perform admin functions AND send/receive mydomain.com email while I'm there. In theory, this module would provide all the functionality of yahoo, hotmail or gmail...but within my site's UI.

I've seen webmail and a few other modules, none of which I fully understand, and not a lot of documentation (How To's, book pages, etc) about how to accomplish what I'd like to do.

Any pointers, recommended config options, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Kelly

webmail for 5.x

kwgossett - June 19, 2008 - 19:04

I've done some looking, and learning, about various webmail apps for Drupal. Unfortunately, neither of the two most feature-rich modules, Webmail_plus and pontomail work with D5.x. Even Webmail_basic warns that "emails may be deleted w/o your wanting them to be deleted", etc. There's little documentation on webmail_basic as well (a book page or How-to would be MUCH appreciated)....so its not clear to me if it needs a Yahoo, google or other mail server to work, if those emails get inadvertently deleted, etc.

Does anyone have an acceptable solution for D5.x webmail? I am curious what has worked well for others.

Thanks,
Kelly
