Hi,
I've just purchased & read Michael Pecock's 'Selling online with Drupal eCommerce 5.x'. As I set up my store, I notice that taxes do not appear in the shopping cart. Apparently (from the forum posts) this is an ongoing issue (since abt 2005).

I'm a little confused.

The way the book was written, it would appear as though there's no problem with tax not appearing in the checkout (all screenshots show tax in the checkout window).

Further, the bug(s) were identified/patched well over a year ago (Mar 07, version 4.7, etc), and should (in theory) have been incorporated into the latest stable eCommerce release (Oct 07 - same time as Peacock was authoring the book).

I realize Peacock cant be responsible for maintaining all modules, etc...and appreciate his efforts to write a complete book. I'm just confused - do I have to incorporate any kind of patch to get tax to appear like the book, or not?

It seems like if there were known issues, the author could have saved the newbie some grief by pointing out the bug/fix.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kelly,

I've just spotted your post in the announcement topic.

I didn't apply any patches or anything, and I don't recall doing anything special to get it working (and the screenshots are genuine). I've not got a copy of the book with me at home, nor access to my drupal installations, so I will have a look at this when I get into the office tomorrow. If there was something in particular which I thought the reader would have found difficult / issues I was aware of, then I would have certainly pointed them out.

Hi Michael,

I experience the same difficulty as Kelly, also using your book (very glad I bought it, BTW!). I am dealing with 2 non shippable products, and 2 taxes: 19.00% Inside the European Union (EU), and 0% outside the EU. I tried several things, like adding a tax rule country Netherlands, and adding a region European Union. To no avail. I used as currency 'EUR', and did not change the decimal point setting.

Any ideas?
