Hello,

Is it possible to create a page template for this module, like so...
page-event.tpl.php

I tried uploading a template like that but it doesn't work.

this is supposed to work ,asssuming that your event node type is actually named "event". Be sure to check the Theme upgrade guide for changes in theming.
