Hi, I would first like to mention how easy and helpful Drupal has been, I've learn a lot from it and I'm sure as it improves many more people will use Drupal.
So, I'm administering my own website but I'm aiming to give people a free means of sharing their created content with other users on this web page, for example new items for "The Sims" series, there is allot of people who want to share content but need somewhere, I'm trying to give this to them but I don't know how.
In simple terms I'm looking to create a community based around the sharing of files from one another, so you would have a picture of the selected item(s), a description and then a download button, obviously their would have to be rating systems and be able to leave comments about that particular item. (Kind of like how DeviantArt (www.deviantart.com) operates, each user ha their own page with their own content.
Sorry if the wording is a bit jumbled up. Basically what I want to start with (as a base to build up from) is:
1. Enable users to upload content (rar, zip etc)
2. Enable users to easily link to their content for download.
3. Have a centralized location for that users content.
4. Have a centralized location for all content submitted.
5. Ratings/Comments.
6. Download count.
7. Enable users to "subscribe" or "follow" a certain person.

Hi I'm looking to do kind of the same thing. I'm also looking for a module that enables this but have been unable to find any just yet.
Anyone know of a module or how to go about configuring Drupal to do this?
