When reading through the code, I figured out this module is developed for the single use case of having a flash frontend. Do you accept patches for enhancing this module so it can be used as an API as well for other modules? Or would you see this more for a contrib module?

We do plan to abstract the functionality out somewhat in the future. For example, we're currently using this module on a site that uses SWFAddress, but triggers AJAX functionality rather than showing a Flash file at all.

I think it would be best to have a core SWFAddress API function with additional add-on helper modules to interface with Flash and show a SWF, or make AJAX requests.

Thanks for the quick reply Steven. I'm reading your answer with great interest and I propose myself as a beta tester for this upcoming new release. For now, I will keep on using swfaddress with the adjustments for my personal case.

I'll track the commits so I'll see when the new code comes around.

FYI I learned about this module via your blog post and slides. Thanks for sharing!
